The first match-up took place in 1900 and the game has been played at the Cotton Bowl as part of the Texas State Fair every year since 1929. The 2010 match-up marked the 105th game of the rivalry and Texas leads the overall series with a record of 59-40-5. The Red River Showdown has been sold out for 64 consecutive years and is traditionally played on the first or second Saturday in October. The Texas/OU football game brings approximately 300,000 people to the State Fairgrounds on game day and has been televised 50 of the last 56 years. The total Attendance is 96,000.
